The Practice Container Course is a 9 Class Series to help you deepen your yoga practice. The container is made up of both the physical and energetic components. In the practice of yoga we simultaneously address body, mind and spirit through somatic movement, awareness, breath and stillness. The Practice Container includes a specific structure or 'series' of poses designed to move from the outside world in, and from the lower (instinctual) chakras to the higher (ethereal) chakras. The Path to Joy is a soul journey program. It includes two modules that can be taken as stand-alone learning or combined to complete a 200-Hour Yoga Alliance Certification. The two modules are: The 26-Week Personal Path to Transformation Art of Teaching
The 26-Week Personal Path of Transformation is a 6-month program that begins with a self-guided virtual day retreat and includes 26-weeks of online self-paced personal journey work that guides you through the Eight-Limbed Path of Yoga teaching you how to live fully present. Each week includes: Daily Intention Instructional lesson videos discussing concepts from assigned readings Journaling homework for soul journey work Guided meditations Resource library packed with all sorts of practices to support you where you are. And two private one-on-one spiritual guidance sessions with the teacher to help you process through the personal work and stay on the path. This module can be taken as stand-alone learning or combined with The Art of Teaching to complete a 200-Hour Yoga Alliance Certification.
The Art of Teaching is a 16-week program that begins Friday, January 29. Classes will meet on Fridays from 7:00 – 11:00 a.m. (Note: we honor a two week break for Easter). We believe that meaningful, lasting learning happens when we connect, share and interact. This course was thoughtfully designed to transcend its virtual capsule. Students will gather online with Susan Smith Friday mornings to learn and practice. Ask questions with real-time feedback, practice with breakout partners, and actively engage in the experience, virtually together! We need yoga now more than ever. Are you ready to explore and share your gifts? This program includes: Asana Practice (Hatha / Vinyasa / Yin / Restorative) Pranayama (Breath-Work) Anatomy and Alignment Teaching Techniques Training Teaching Methodology Practicum (Practice Teaching) Virtual Assisting: Adjusting the Practice to Accommodate All Students Physical and Energetic Assists Discussion, Q & A Meditation All classes are taught live and recorded. The first 60 minutes of class is devoted to asana, breath-work and meditation. The remaining time is devoted to teaching foundations of the practice with discussion and sharing.
