Who We Are:
One-Yoga is a holistic health and wellness organization dedicated to improving the quality of life by sharing the deep personal work and practical approach of yogic principles and practice. Our passion is focused on helping people live full, happy and healthy lives through a teaching philosophy that includes guiding each practice with love and compassion, personally assisting every student, and nourishing spirit by connecting and being consciously aware. We do this work through teacher trainings, educational programs, retreats, workshops, and classes.

Our Mission in Life:
To share the gifts of yoga with everyone who has the desire to learn guiding each practice with love and intuition.  To help practitioners and teachers on their journey by being fully present and discovering the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual needs of each person.  And, through this discovery and understanding, aid in the restoration of balance, well-being and peace.

Our Teaching Team:
The vocation of teaching yoga and holism is born of passion and a desire to help others on their journey. One of the best parts about working with One-Yoga is our team of diverse and specialized holistic health professionals. We are an evolutionary continuous learning organization collectively supporting the mission to share the gifts of yoga and wellness with our students, communities and the world. Each student benefits from our collaborative pool of wisdom, skills and years of experience.

Our team offers a wealth of knowledge and depth of experiential learning in: Yoga (Classical Hatha, Vinyasa, Therapeutic, Gentle and Limited Mobility); Meditation, Systematic Relaxation and MBSR Techniques; Ayurveda (The Science of Life); Nutrition and Mindful Eating; Physical and Subtle Body Anatomy (Chakra Based Work); Integrative Functional Health; Support Counseling; Spiritual Development; Reiki / Loving Healing Touch; and Life Coaching.

Our Students:
Our students are plentiful and diverse. They come in all sizes, shapes, from all over the world and with varying capabilities. We welcome all students offering a safe and nurturing community space for each student to learn and grow at their own pace.

The Evolution of One-Yoga:
In 2000, a dear friend lent me a VHS yoga tape. That was the beginning of my search for true wellness and peace of mind.  Prior to yoga, I had spent most of my life trying to sculpt and shape my body into an image I thought was acceptable. I ran 5 – 7 days a week, lifted weights, and was always on some kind of diet.  I didn’t even realize that I was suffering; I thought that was normal. By the end of that yoga tape, I realized I had found my calling. I was overcome by a profound sense of connectedness and calm, and I signed up for the first of many teacher trainings.

And so my journey began. I was focused and fearless when it came to studying and practice. I dove in head first and never looked back. I learned that I absolutely love learning. I had the good fortune of studying under some great teachers, and learned a tremendous amount from my teachers who struggled with their own baggage. All learning was a blessing and each lesson showed me what I needed to do.

Yoga isn’t about mastering a flexible pose. It’s about finding your personal path to live as your best self. It’s a journey that you embark on every day. And through a commitment to practice on and off the mat, you uncover the truth – your truth! Through daily disciplined practice and spiritual awakening, you peel back the layers of ego, attachment, aversion and fear. You discover the conditioned habit patterns that are buried within us, and unconsciously rule our lives. And, you find clarity, healing and joy.

I prayed, meditated, studied, journaled and practiced every single day. I listened to whatever messages I received, and I took action when directed. My years in the corporate world came in handy when creating this vision. For that I am eternally grateful. One-Yoga was born out of my passion to share the profound transformational gifts that can be experienced from the no-nonsense practical approach to earnest practice. My practice and teaching has evolved and continues to evolve. I simply practice, listen and share.

Susan Smith, yoga teacher, spiritual guide and author of “The Power of Yoga” is a dedicated yoga practitioner. With over 30 years of education and experience in health, wellness, yoga, mindfulness and spiritual awakening, she developed teacher training and immersion programs founded through her multi-disciplinary studies.

Susan founded One-Yoga, a holistic health and wellness institute dedicated to improving the quality of life by sharing the deep personal work and practical approach of yogic principles and practice. The Eight-Limbed Path of Yoga and Vedantic philosophy greatly influenced her teachings. Her training includes numerous certifications from respected teachers throughout the world. Each contributed to her teaching philosophy.  She shares her vision, passion, and practicality with students worldwide.  Susan holds a MSM in Health Care, MRT in Usui Reiki and MYI &ERYT in Yoga Instruction.
